Planting new ideas for playwriting
Sometimes you’re hungry to start writing a play but can’t find the way into your subject. Or maybe you’ve got the itch to write, but no ideas for content. This course is a frolicsome adventure using a different ‘found object’ each week as an entry point into a new play. Objects could include a mysterious photograph, a household item, a myth or fairy tale, a piece of music, an anonymous letter…who knows? All that’s certain is that by the end of the course, you’ll have the kernels of several new plays ready to develop.
Led by esteemed Australian playwright Hilary Bell, this eight-week long course is designed for playwrights at any stage – from brand-new to experienced. All you need is an open mind and a sense of adventure.
