'Tragedy is an incident, comedy will be our landscape.'

About

Somewhere in a busy city, a Man wakes to discover he has forgotten his life. He has no memory of the past and no clear sense of the present. He is concussed. Or so he is told by a doctor – who may also be his partner. Now there are flashes of something. Hunger, mourning, sexual appetite. …Bob Dylan? But why isn’t he in hospital? And what of the voices, the Blackberry, the brothers? The hammer?

Slowly he, and we, begin to unpick at the Man’s life and the world around it.
As chronology returns so does the man’s desire to rectify past mistakes. Except if you only know half the story, it is difficult to know where to begin…

A comedy with attitude, Ross Mueller‘s Concussion was developed through the 2008 National Play Festival and we are delighted to present the premiere season in partnership with Sydney Theatre Company.

A co-production with Sydney Theatre Company as part of its Next Stage program

‘Mueller is surely one of the most intelligent, formally adventurous and emotionally brave playwrights now writing in this country.’ Theatre Notes
